2024 BAYOU BASH TOURNAMENT RULES
The rules of this tournament may be amended verbally or in writing at the Captains Meeting. Anglers are responsible for knowing all the rules. Changes will be updated on FB and website following the Captain’s Meeting.
Registration Cost:
o Adult Division is $60
o Kid Division is $20
o Mystery Fish is $20
Fishing Divisions: Kid, 12 YOA and under Adult, 13 YOA and up
Weigh-in begins at 3:00pm EST, anglers must be in line by 4:30pm EST
Anglers will only be allowed one weigh-in. All fish being weighed should be brought up at that time. Fish will be marked after official weigh-in is completed and anglers are responsible for their fish after weigh-in. NO COURTESY WEIGHING. METAL DETECTOR AND INTERNAL THERMOMETER MAY BE USED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE WEIGH-MASTER
Anglers may fish any public waters along the “Forgotten Coast” and may fish in a boat, from shore, in a kayak, or wade into the water. Fish must be caught personally by the registered entrant using legal methods during legal hours of the fishing tournament. The Tournament reserves the right to amend the lengths and/or remove any fish from competition without notice at any time in order to comply with state requirements. ANY PARTICIPANT MAY BE QUESTIONED ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE LANDING FISH. Anglers may only win one place in each division. There is only one inshore slam and it can be awarded to an adult or kid participant.
All fish presented for weigh-in must be fresh, in edible condition, have not been frozen, and must be caught during tournament fishing hours. Acceptability of fish will be determined by the Tournament Weigh Master. All fish must adhere to recreational size and bag limits of the State of Florida. See FWC official rules.
It is the responsibility of the angler to ensure that all foreign objects are removed from the fish. Such objects shall include, but are not limited to: hooks, leaders, ice, and weights.
MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! WHAT WILL I WIN?
Kid Divisions: All species, 1st $200, 2nd $100, and 3rd $50
Adult Division: All species 1st $600, 2nd $400, and 3rd $200
Inshore Slam: 1 overall winner of $1,000 from any division.
Mystery Fish: 1 overall winner of $500
Bonus Payouts:
Swivel Sisters will pay an additional $500 for any participant who breaks the red fish spot record.
Doghouse Charters will pay $500 to one participating female that weighs-in
Kids Raffle:
Each kid participant will be given a raffle for each fish weighed in (up to three) for a chance to win great prizes called out at the beginning of the raffle (no additional charge)
HOW TO WIN
All fish will win by weight, tie breaker will go to first weighed in
Red Fish- Overall number of spots; then weight followed by weigh-in time
Inshore Slam-total combined weight of flounder, trout, and red fish, time of weigh-in
Mystery Fish will win by weight, tie breaker will go to first weighed in
