The Swivel Sisters Scholarship target recipient is a Gulf or Franklin County student (or any student who has competed in previous Bayou Bash tournaments) interested in studying a career related to water. The scholarship assists with financial costs of traditional college education or nontraditional post-secondary education for students pursuing a degree and/or certificate in water-related professions such as Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Marine Mechanics, and/or a USCG Captain’s License. Additional areas of study will be considered provided the applicant provides an accepted explanation along with a personal statement.
Recipients of the scholarship receive an initial award of $500 presented at the Bayou Bash. Subsequent awards of up to $500 are presented each semester for four years as long as all scholarship requirements continue to be met and maintained.
For more information on becoming a scholarship recipient or for more information, please contact your local Gulf or Franklin County guidance counselor or click here to download the scholarship application and return to our scholarship committee.
The Swivel Sisters Scholarship Program was established in 2019, and is fully funded by proceeds from the Bayou Bash Inshore Fishing Tournament.
